Quest Learning Observatory by Quest Alliance
Nestled in Kengeri, Western Bangalore, the Quest Learning Observatory (QLO) stands as a beacon of regenerative practices and sustainable innovation. Spanning 15,000 sq. ft., this carbon-neutral hub is dedicated to fostering collaboration among interdisciplinary stakeholders in education and emerging social sectors.
Designed by Good Earth and Busride, QLO exemplifies a visionary approach to addressing climate change and nurturing holistic growth, drawing inspiration from the natural cycles and cultures that have thrived through adaptability and renewal.
The architecture of QLO is a testament to sustainable design, featuring closed, renewable loops that integrate alternative solutions for building, water, and energy. The cradle-to-cradle concept is embodied in the materials used, such as sun-baked bricks made from site-excavated mud and interiors crafted from reclaimed wood sourced from the Alang Ship Breaking Yard.
The QLO space is home to various innovative environments, including the Future Sensor gallery, which provides insights into emerging innovations and career trends, and Qudio, a multifunctional workspace with resting pods and media studios.
The Kaos Cafe hosts interactive events, while the Makers Garage offers a hands-on space for aspiring entrepreneurs. Chilipililoka, an iridescent green area, invites visitors to engage with nature, and the Sonorium, filled with interactive musical instruments, encourages deep listening and creativity.
Sustainability is embedded at every level of QLO, from the selection of tree species based on climatic data to the solar analysis that optimizes energy generation. A permaculture garden, incorporating raised beds and food forests, further enhances the eco-friendly landscape, creating a thriving environment of perennial vegetables, herbs, and flowers.
QLO is more than just a building; it is a living embodiment of Quest Alliance’s philosophy—learning from today to reshape tomorrow, ensuring that innovation and sustainability go hand in hand for a better future.
