Welcome to San Francisco!

As you walk out of the Embarcadero Bart in the heart of San Francisco downtown, a Brutalist architecture screams "Welcome to San Francisco!" The Hyatt Regency building was designed by John Portman in the 1970's, a time when salvation of such buildings was a major movement for the decaying American downtowns.

This picture is taken at an unusual angle from the backside of the building which overlooks the Bay Bridge. Reminiscent of a chilly evening in SFO, this piece of art(as I would like to call it), sits silently yet powerfully in the pacific.
