Nestled among the green foliage that has recently overtaken this plot of land, this earthen edifice blends in beautifully with its surrounds.

An organic building for an organic farm is what Yash farms stands for. A contemporary design inspired by the vernacular forming soulful calming spaces away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

The flow of spaces has been planned to incorporate an effortless transition from the outdoors to the interiors. One is welcomed by a quaint verandah surrounding an open to sky courtyard. This is the heart of the entire structure. This space not only provides light and ventilation to the spaces that wrap around it but also has a vibe that cannot be captured in words but has to be experienced.

There is a clear demarcation of the public and private spaces using several semi open areas as buffers between them. When it comes to the aspects of sustainability, it is looked at both from the materiality approach and also has several built in passive solar features to bring down the overall running cost of the structure. Sustainability is also applied from both the micro to the macro level with rainwater harvesting, wastewater management, Bio-gas and solar energy.

The structure’s material composition includes Compressed Stabilized Earth Blocks (CSEB), Rammed earth, natural stone and re-purposed wood. Apart from being home to the client, owing to its rustic aesthete and earthy tones, this space is often used as a backdrop for several video and photo shoots. The 1.2-acre property has also hosted several corporate and team building workshop.

All in all, this building is more than just mud brick and mortar, the building and ancillary spaces come together organically to create a great environment of collaboration and well-being.
